Write Learner Evaluations More Quickly

Sometimes it can be challenging to come up with useful written comments about learners’ performances for evaluations. You want to make sure your comments contain specific examples and meaningful context that will help your learners advance.

It may be easier and quicker to write evaluations if you focus on these four major areas of performance: understanding, skill, knowledge, and attitude.

For example, a written comment about a learner's skill might be: “Susan needs to include more pertinent information (eg, physical findings, plans) in the medical record.” 

A comment about a learner's understanding could be: "John was able to communicate well with both patient and family and respond to them at their level of understanding."
